Advanced Course on Environmental Epigenetics happened in 20-24 March 2023
The in-person week of the EPIBOOST Advanced Course “Environmental epigenetics and risk assessment: challenges and future perspectives” was held at the University of Aveiro from March 20th to March 24th. We had several theoretical sessions regarding epigenetics concepts, epigenetic mechanisms, sequencing techniques and its principles, as well as on the integration of epigenetic marks in ecological risk assessment frameworks. Hands-on sessions covered the experimental design for applied studies addressing epigenetic responses to environmental stressors and bioinformatic pipelines applied to this kind of studies. A visit to the sequencing facility of the University of Aveiro was made and several top-class experts from the EPIBOOST External Advisory Board shared their knowledge and experience in the field with the Course attendants.
